THE U.S SANCTIONS ON TURKEY IS CONTINUED
The U.S imposed sanctions on Turkey to release imprisoned U.S pastor Andrew Brunson.
The U.S department of treasury blamed justice minister Abdülhamit Gül and Interior minister Süleyman Soylu for being involved Brunson’s arrest and detention. Under the sanctions , any property belonging to Gül and Soylu within U.S jurisdiction would be blocked.
Brunson, a christian pastor from the U.S has been living in Turkey more than two decades was accused of having links with Pkk and Fetö. He has been under the house arrest right now. Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Çavuşoglu and United States secretary of state Mike Pompeo held a meeting related with the issue. After the meeting,
Çavuşoglu said that; The U.S and Turkey agreed to try to resolve the issues. Pompeo said that ; The U.S is very serious about the demand of Brunson’s release.
