Turkey’s religious communities do not face oppression. Representatives of these communities stressed that they are practising their beliefs freely. The representatives including Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarch Dimitri Bartholomew, Armenian Patriarchate of İstanbul Archbishop Aram Ateşyan, chief Rabbi of the Turkish Jewish community Ishak Haleva denied oppression claims toward them. In a joint statement minority leaders declared that they felt responsibility to inform the public with the truth.
